Salado, Texas
Friday, March 28, 2008

Yesterday, we had an early dinner and plenty of daylight left, so I decided to pack the kids up and drive down to Salado, Texas. I love being in Historic Salado. It is beautiful and such an old Texas town feel. It was such a pleasant evening and the weather was absolutely perfect- not too hot and not too cold with a gently breeze.
First, we walked around and looked at the gorgeous shops around town.

Then we went down by the creek and the kids waded in the water.

Just as we were getting ready to leave, poor Makenzie fell backwards into the creek and was drenched. She was so upset. She wasn't necessarily upset about being wet, but being wet with "stinky", mossy water.
On the way home we saw the most beautiful pink sunset. It was a nice little last minute excursion.
